We flew to San Francisco and then drew 4 h to South Lake Tahoe.
The road was windy and took us over 7000 ft over seas.
We arrived late at night and went straight to bed.
Next morning we were stunned. We could never expect this wonderful view.
We rented kayaks and were paddeling for 3 h. It was amazing. The water was crystal blue. It is the second deepest sea in USA, its depth is 1,645 feet (501 m)
Surrounded by snowy mountains... |
Matilda and Fabian tried to come along... |
We stayed in South Lake Tahoe for three nights. Then heading back to San Francisco. But first we had to stop by Yosemite Reservation, that would be a 3 h extra ride (but worth it...)
We stopped by at an Antique "store" on the way and the owner told us to visit "Bodie" an old "Ghost town", just a short drive (well, short in this neighborhood...)
Bodie, the old Gold rush, Cowboy town...
The last people moved away in 1950´s. Today you can look into some of the houses and se how it looked like, nothing has changed.
Yosemite...

The next hours in the car to San Francisco was looong and boooooring. And late late late (at 1:00 a.m.) we finally came to the hotel.
